Due to their fashionable and low-price products and services, cosmetology clinical services in South Korea saw a 132.4 percent year-on-year surge in Chinese customers in 2024, totaling 261,000 visits. However, despite popular treatments such as skin filler hyarluronic acid, Botox and cutting-edge collagen regeneration technology by radiofrequency and laser, complaints over short-lived effects persist. Lured by the world’s newest cosmetology products like Rejuran Hydroderm Booster and Ultherapy, many Chinese frequent South Korean cosmetology clinics, ignoring their extreme market tactics and uncertain aftercare. Unlike China’s scrupulous market authorization procedures, South Korea is much more lax in allowing imports of cosmetology products. Experts point out that clinical trials often obscure differences between old and new products, but the safety of their procedures should be the top concern for customers.
